Have you got your rolls down but don’t know what to do with them? Are your songs sounding the same and you’d like to add color to them? Know a few tunes but haven’t played in jam setting? Heard of melodic playing but not sure where to start and how it can work with Scruggs style? Wonder what a I-IV-V chord progression is and why? If your answer is YES to any of these, then join us for our Intermediate Bluegrass Banjo class series. We will cover these topics and more. Let’s get ready for the upcoming festival season with new skills and ideas!
Skills Needed: Have basic understanding of the five string banjo and a few songs you can play confidently all the way through - like Cripple Creek, Fireball Mail, etc.
What to Bring: Bring your banjo, finger picks, tuner, music stand, and get ready to have some fun!
Teacher: Dan Monte Calvo has played banjo since 1978. He's traveled and played with many bands in the Seattle area and Europe.
*Most classes and workshops are geared towards late-teens and adults. Younger learners will benefit most starting with private lessons.
