Used Chuck Lee Lone Star Custom

A predictably stellar example of Chuck Lee's fine work, this 2020 Lone Star Custom is in excellent condition and is set up for easy frailing up its 25-1/2" scale. Though its cosmetic appointments may be understated, Chuck's uncompromising attention to detail is evident at every turn on this 12" banjo, from the scalloped nut to the expertly carved and finished walnut neck and Dobson heel. Action measures 6/64" at the twelfth fret across the board with .005" relief in the neck. The neck has a nicely rounded V-profile; a slightly modernized take on classic early 20th century banjo necks from the likes of Bacon & Day. It's a joy to play with a great high lonesome sound and buckets of old-time charm. Fit and finish are all top-notch and cosmetic condition is excellent, with a tiny triangular finish chip beside the 5th string tuner being the only notable blemish I can find. Fretwire shows no signs of wear in any position, and the Renaissance head is in great shape - just barely broken in. Includes original hard-shell case.
