Used 1972 Jose Ramirez 1A
$5,695.00
A 1972 Jose Ramirez 1A built in 1972 by esteemed luthier Teodoro Perez (as determined from the #13 penciled on the underside of the top) featuring a red cedar top and Brazilian rosewood back and sides, in very good condition and including a hard-shell case. This is a wonderful classical guitar with excellent string definition and nuanced dynamic response. Setup with action measuring 3.5mm from the 12th fret to the bottom of the outside strings with a touch of relief in the neck.
As was the Ramirez standard for the 1A at this time, this guitar has a solid Brazilian rosewood back and cypress lining along the interior of its Brazilian rosewood sides. Condition is very good, with past structural repairs limited to the stabilization and cleating of two cracks along the grain in the back. The original finish shows general wear from decades of play, including assorted dings, scrapes, finish checking, and nail wear - all surface level and fairly minor considering the age of the instrument. Frets are level and in excellent shape. Includes a modern Takamine hard-shell case in excellent condition.
