Used Alembic Custom Bass
$6,495.00
Handmade by the wizards at Alembic in the late 1990s, this 4-string bass features premium tonewoods, hardware, and electronics and is in excellent+ cosmetic and functional condition. Constructed in the style colloquially referred to as a "hippie sandwich', the custom body of this bass is reminiscent of Alembic's Omega model and is composed of layers of figured walnut, maple, purple heart, and figured mahogany. The bridge, tailpiece, and adjustable nut are custom-made from brass, and the electronics are Alembic's proprietary Activator pickups, with an active circuit featuring a low pass filter, an 8db boost toggle switch, and a neck/bridge blend control. A very versatile setup brimming with usable tones.
This bass is equipped with a 5-piece maple and walnut set-in neck with a comfortable rounded shape and moderate shoulder. The neck is nice and straight and the ebony board sports a tall set of frets showing almost zero evidence of wear. The finish is in similar shape, with no major wear to speak of.
