Used Santa Cruz Custom Vintage Artist
$5,995.00
A stunning herringbone dreadnought completed in the Santa Cruz factory in 2003. The label is signed by Richard Hoover and indicates that this is a Vintage Artist model, though this guitar has several custom options, most notable of which is an exquisite set of rosewood for the back and sides, hand-selected at the workshop by the original owner of the guitar. This model features forward-shifted X-bracing, masterfully scalloped and thinned by hand, resulting in a very responsive top with plenty of volume and even balance. The Vintage Jumbo neck profile is also a custom modification; it's deep and round and fills out the hand nicely-- a comfortable alternative to the V-shape that would be standard on this model.
This is a tremendous sounding rosewood dreadnought, very lively and immediate, sweet and articulate with heaps of bass. An aftermarket K&K pickup has been professionally installed. Cosmetic condition is excellent, with minor finish dings, scratches and scrapes throughout- nothing extreme, just typical wear for a well-loved guitar of its age.
