Used Weissenborn Model 2
$3,495.00
A lovely sounding solid koa Weissenborn Style 2 built in Los Angeles in the mid 1920s. Overall condition is good, with one small hole in the side, a bit smaller than a dime, that was patched by the Dusty Strings repair team. The original shellac finish has nicks, dings, scrapes, and playwear throughout, commensurate with age and use, but there are no signs of abuse, cracks, or structural issues of any kind.
This guitar is well played-in and has taken on a beautiful, clear voice with a rich midrange and excellent balance from bass to treble strings. Currently setup with phosophor bronze strings in Taro Patch open G tuning. The current string gauges would be suitable for open D or open E as well.
