Description
1986 Martin D-28S 12-fret in excellent cosmetic and structural condition and including the original hard-shell case. This is a superb sounding guitar with a snappy articulate low end and clear string definition; easy to get moving and long to sustain. Setup to play great with action measuring 7/64" and 5/64" from the 12th fret to the bottom of the low and high strings, respectively, with .007" relief in the mahogany neck with medium gauge strings tuned to standard. This is one of Martin's last guitars with a square steel tube neck reinforcement; it is not adjustable but will likely never need it - the neck geometry remains optimal after these forty years and the 12-fret neck design is very stable. Cosmetic wear is minor for its age, with the only blemishes beyond light playwear being a small patch of finish aberration on the back near the buckle zone and a few lacquer chips around the back of the headstock.
