Instrument Rentals
Guitars, banjos, mandolins, ukuleles, harps, hammered dulcimers, and mountain dulcimers are all available to rent at Dusty Strings! Renting is an easy, affordable way to get started before investing in your own instrument. We also have instructional materials for sale, and a Music School where you can sign up for private lessons, group classes, and workshops.
Banjo (open back): $35/month ($50 deposit)
Banjo (resonator): $40/month ($50 deposit)
Guitar (acoustic): $35/month ($50 deposit)
Guitar (acoustic with pickup): $45/month ($50 deposit)
Hammered Dulcimer: $35/month ($50 deposit)
Harp (26-string, Ravenna or Allegro model, C and F levers only): $40/month ($75 deposit)
Harp (26-string, Ravenna or Allegro model, full sharping levers): $50/month ($75 deposit)
Harp (34-string, Ravenna nylon-strung or Boulevard pedal gut-strung, full levers): $75/month ($175 deposit)
Harp (36-string, FH36 model, full levers): $80/month ($200 deposit)
Mandolin: $35/month ($50 deposit)
Mountain Dulcimer: $35/month ($50 deposit)
The Details:
- One month's rent and refundable damage deposit must be paid at time of rental. (Rent is subject to sales tax; damage deposit is not.)
- Up to four months of rent can be applied toward the purchase of a new instrument of equal or greater value (harp and hammered dulcimer rental credit may only be used towards Dusty Strings instruments). Rental instruments are not available for purchase.
- All renters must have a valid credit/debit card and provide that card for security on the instrument, as well as automatic rental payments. Please note that we need a physical card to set up the rental, as tap-to-pay with a smartphone does not reliably work for card enrollment.
- We only rent to customers in the Puget Sound region, and all rentals must remain in Washington.
