Description

Used 2006 Larrivee L-09 featuring a Sitka spruce top and a stunning set of Madagascar rosewood for the back and sides, in excellent condition and including a hard-shell case. This Larrivee original body design exists in the space between an OM, a jumbo, and a slope-shoulder dreadnought, and it has all the tone and projection of a large guitar with the ergonomics and comfortability of a smaller one. This particular example sounds superb, with its Madagascar rosewood body imparting a satisfying depth and clarity to every note. It's also beautifully bookmatched with some attractive inky black grain lines. This guitar is freshly re-fretted and playing great, with action measuring 6/64" and 4/64" from the 12th fret to the bottom of the low and high string, respectively, with .006" relief in the neck and plenty of saddle exposure above the surface of the ebony bridge. Evidence of prior repair history includes a glue line on the bridge suggesting a competent bridge re-glue including the sealing of a tiny stretch of seam separation in the top just behind the bridge, and a few small hairline splits in the rosewood near the endpin that have been stabilized and expertly touched up. One small chip in the binding on the treble side waist appears to have been repaired as well. All work is top-notch and was clearly performed by a skilled and experienced luthier.
