Used Northfield NF-ASM

Used Northfield mandolins don't show up all that often, either in our shop or out in the world at large, and this 2014 NF-A5M is a good indication of why people don't want to let them go. It sounds snappy and bold while still being sweet and expressive, equally suited to chopping out chords or carrying a lead, and its asymmetrically positioned tone bars contribute to perfect string balance from course to course. It's a ton of fun to play, too, with low action measuring a hair under 4/64" from the 12th fret to the bottom of the outside strings with a touch of relief in the neck. Cosmetic condition remains excellent, especially considering its age, with no more than an occasional minor surface-level dimple or scratch here and there. Frets are unworn at factory height. Includes a nice custom rectangular hard-shell case.
