Description

Used 2001 Deering Maple Blossom tenor banjo in excellent condition and including its original case. The Maple Blossom is positioned toward the upper end of Deering's Flagship Series, featuring violin-grade curly maple construction and a bell bronze flat head tone ring. This example was built a few years before Deering's current model -06- tone ring was introduced, so it features the no-hole variant, which sounds bold and punchy with a great percussive attack, perfect for picking melodies or chopping out chords. Setup for Irish tuning (G-D-A-E) with action measuring 5/64" and 4/64" from the 12th fret to the bottom of the low and high string, respectively, with .007" relief in the neck and proper break angle over the bridge. This instrument has been well cared for and seldom played, showing very little wear in the finish or fretwire. Cosmetic wear is limited to a small shallow finish scratch on the back of the resonator and some hazing/oxidation in the plating on areas of the tension hoop and flange.
