The ultimate quickdraw guitar for random strokes of inspiration or longer comfort sessions reclined on the couch, this used Collings Baby 1 G features a straight-grained German spruce top and extravagantly figured walnut back and sides in excellent+ condition and includes its original hardshell case. This guitar was built as a showpiece for the 2024 NAMM convention, and Collings employed some very fine materials throughout. The result is a surprisingly dynamic small-bodied instrument with complex tonal characteristics and great sensitivity to player inflection. Notable premium features include Waverly tuning machines, some nicely figured mahogany for the neck, and an especially radiant abalone rosette. Setup with optimal action measuring 6/64" and 4/64" from the 12th fret to the bottom of the low and high strings, respectively, with .006" relief in the neck. Overall condition is largely as it was when it left the factory, with very little evidence of handling visible in either the finish or the fretwire.
