Description
We're beyond pleased to have one of Steve Andersen's Dusty Strings exclusive "Fremont" models come back home. We dubbed it the "Fremont" to celebrate our beloved Seattle neighborhood, shared with Steve back when he first set up shop in Seattle.
Steve retired recently, so his guitars are that much harder to come by, and he only made four of these. They all feature stunning Bigleaf flame maple back and sides and a beautiful wide-grained Engelmann spruce top, adorned with stunning "Dalmation" tortoise appointments. All of his guitars feature incredibly thoughtful touches – the invisible mounting of the floating pickguard, the bevel on the cutaway (both top and back), the elegant compensation of the carved ebony saddle, the way the tortoise overlay on the back of the headstock turns into a "stinger" as it joins the neck – and they sound absolutely amazing, This one just sings!
Just past its 9th birthday, this guitar is in excellent condition, with only minor signs of wear, but it has opened up nicely with age. If you've been on the lookout for an archtop, you really need to check it out!
