This walnut/redwood model is identical to the standard hourglass model, but with a shorter scale length, which can be easier and more comfortable for the player with smaller hands. This also reduces the string tension which can help certain players avoid hand fatigue. It still has the same tuning and beautiful tone associated with McSpadden dulcimers.
