Description
2007 D-18 Authentic 1937 from Martin's early run of Authentic series guitars, featuring an Adirondack spruce top, advanced scalloped bracing, and hide glue construction, in excellent condition and including the original hard-shell case. With its tremendous volume, incisive low end, and rich, sparkling trebles, this guitar proves that the legendary status of these early Authentics is justified. Setup with action measuring 7/64" and 5/64" from the 12th fret to the bottom of the low and high strings, respectively, with .005" in the T-bar stiffened neck. The Adirondack spruce top is nicely bookmatched, runout-free, and features uniform parallel grain lines. Cosmetic condition is excellent, with no chips, scrapes, or cracks to be found in the lacquer. Playwear is limited to a few patches of minor finish fog/haze on the top, side, and back around the bass-side waist and where the arm crosses over. Fretwire shows a touch of wear beneath the plain strings at the first five positions only - all minor with tons of life left in them yet.
