Description
Vintage 1978 Gibson J-200 Artist featuring a Sitka spruce top and maple back and sides with a rare top-to-bottom black finish in very good condition and including a hardshell case. The ultimate songwriter's companion with unequaled projection and a rich, sparkling midrange, this jumbo excels at everything from flatpicking and heavy strumming to intricate fingerpicking and beyond. It has certainly been played, as is evidenced by the honest playwear in the finish throughout, but it has held up well through the years and remains crack-free. It benefits from a bridge re-glue, a recent neck re-set, and full refret, all of which has left it playing great, with action measuring 6/64" and 4/64" from the 12th fret to the bottom of the low and high string, respectively, with .005" relief in the neck. Frets are recently installed and show no signs of wear in any position. Cosmetic condition is good, with notable playwear including moderate pickwear on the top and a few spots of scratching in the buckle zone on the back.
