Description
Austin Clark has carved out quite a reputation for his superb instruments In the 20 some odd years since he started building in his Boise, Idaho workshop, and this 2012 A-5 mandolin is proof that his esteem is well-deserved. It delivers all the punch and volume one would ever need from an f-hole mandolin, but does so with an underlying sweetness to every note — even all the way up at the highest reaches of the ebony fingerboard. Freshly setup and playing great with low action, a straight neck, and plenty of room for future adjustability. There is some red color bleed from the case upholstery into the ivoroid body binding in a few places, but cosmetic condition is otherwise excellent+ with very few signs of handling in the frets or finish.
