2006 Bourgeois DBJ featuring a high-grade redwood top and premium genuine mahogany back and sides in excellent condition including the original hard-shell case. This guitar is specially tuned with unique bracing for maximum resonance in multiple tunings. The top x-brace is tapered on the treble side and scalloped on the bass side, and the back is uniquely braced with an x-pattern with wing braces. It doesn't take much to get the redwood top singing with its detailed voice, expansive low end, and clear note separation. Designed with fingerstyle and alternate tunings in mind but equally capable in E standard with a heavy pick. Materials and craftsmanship are pure class from top to bottom, with deluxe appointments including rosewood binding, a brilliant abalone rosette, and gold high-ratio Gotoh tuning machines. Setup with comfortable playing action measuring 6/64" and 4/64" from the 12th fret to the bottom of the low and high strings, respectively, with .007" relief in the neck. Cosmetic wear is limited to a surface scrape making a cloudy patch of finish on the back around the buckle zone. Otherwise, there is very little evidence of wear in the finish. Fretwire shows a few nearly imperceptible signs of use beneath the second string on the first four frets only, and is unworn at factory height elsewhere up and across the board. Wired up with an LR Baggs iMix module connecting an iBeam bridgeplate transducer with an undersaddle piezo pickup to an active preamp with volume and tone controls.
