Description
It is a pleasure to offer up for sale this Model E guitar built by luthier Kathy Wingert. Kathy has built a reputation building exquisite guitars, often with unique and ornate inlay work by her daughter, Jimmi. This particular guitar, from 2008, is a much simpler example of her work, but stunning in its simplicity, thanks to the highly figured koa back and sides and Italian spruce top.
The Model E is a small-ish design, extremely comfortable, but with a strong, rich voice, punching well above its weight. Playability is top-notch, and Kathy's skill as a builder is evident throughout, from the scalloped nut and unique volute to the elegant fingerboard extension and end graft.
This guitar is in very good condition, with one stable crack repair on the top and a few dings through the finish on the neck. There are the remnants of a previous pickup system in the body, as well as the current K&K, which is an excellent choice for this instrument.
All in all, this is an excellent and rare opportunity to get your hands on a guitar from one of the leading lights of modern lutherie.
