Description

Used 2010 Collings D1A with an Adirondack spruce top and genuine mahogany back and sides featuring Collings' now discontinued premium alkyd resin varnish finish, in excellent+ condition and including the original hard shell case. This dreadnought is a seriously mean machine - lightweight and resonant, loud and dry with an incisive, searing cut that could rip through any mix. This guitar was built without a tongue brace in the fashion of the legendary flat tops of the 1930s, and the top X-bracing is forward-shifted and scalloped. Materials are all supremely fine: the Adirondack spruce is perfectly bookmatched and free from runout, displaying straight grain lines and plenty of silking. The mahogany for the back, sides, and neck is similarly deluxe, featuring a good deal of tight, even flame throughout. Overall cosmetic condition is extremely clean, with wear limited to some shallow pickwear on the guard, a few faint scratches around the headstock overlay, and a couple miniscule dents in the varnish on the treble bout. Frets are in great shape with minor flat spots visible beneath the plain strings in the first four positions only.
