Description

A beautiful example of National's iconic 14-fret Style O made famous by Mark Knopfler, with an etched weathered steel body, in excellent cosmetic and functional condition and including the original hard-shell case. Setup in the sweet spot for both fretting and slide, it plays cleanly all the way up the soft V-shaped maple neck, and the notes sustain for days, taking on a natural reverb from the hand-spun cone highly resonant metal body. Rich and immediate with good dynamic range, this Style O has the quintessential biscuit resonator tone. Condition is excellent with wear limited to picking marks in the metal finishing beneath the high e string and very minor wear spots showing on the first few frets beneath the plain strings only. The original coverplate has taken on a weathered rusted patina and the hand rest has been switched out for a smooth polished chrome replacement taken from a separate coverplate that will be included in the sale with the original hand rest attached.
