Martin Custom Shop 0000-28H featuring an Italian alpine spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides, fully serviced and in excellent structural and cosmetic condition. This guitar was originally spec'd out with the Custom Shop by Schoenberg Guitars in 2002 and has been well cared for ever since. A 0000 size guitar is uncommon enough as it is, but the venetian cutaway and Italian spruce on this example really cement this instrument as unique among Martin's lineup. This guitar sounds sweet and sensitive with a broad tonal range, tons of sustain, and plenty of headroom, making for a vesatile tool for fingerstyle, strumming, and flatpicking alike. It also handles DADGAD and other alternate low tunings with ease. Recent service includes a top-notch neck reset and saddle replacement by Carter Vintage. Setup to play great with action measuring 6/64" at the 12th fret with .005" relief in the neck and plenty of room for future adjustment in both the truss rod and the saddle. Bracing is scalloped and forward-shifted. Cosmetic condition is excellent, with finish wear limited to a few snakebite dings in the top lacquer around the lower bout and some faint buckle wear and surface scratching on the back. Fretwire is also in very clean shape, barely worn at the first few frets beneath the plain strings only and seemingly untouched elsewhere up the board. Includes Martin branded archlid TKL hard case.
