Over the course of four weeks, you’ll learn at least three basic chords and strum patterns used throughout popular music from folk to rock. You’ll develop good practice habits and a strong foundation for playing guitar with ease so you can enjoy your instrument for years to come!

Skills Needed: For the total beginner – whether you have never picked up a guitar before or just know a few simple chords!

What to Bring: Please bring a working, six-string guitar, tuner, music stand, and a device for recording and/or taking video. Need to rent a guitar? Dusty Strings has an affordable rental program. Please call (206) 634-1662 or come to the shop between 10:30am – 6pm at least a week before the first class as rentals are subject to availability.

Teacher: Noelia Navarro is a guitarist, singer-songwriter, and educator from Costa Rica with over 10 years of experience. Her musical background includes jazz, blues, contemporary music, and Latin American rhythms. She is passionate about creating inclusive learning spaces where students of all levels can develop their unique musical voices.

*Most classes and workshops are geared towards late-teens and adults. Younger learners will benefit most starting with private lessons.
