Description
A lovely F-style oval hole mandolin from the Lloyd Loar era  the golden age of Gibson's mandolin production  featuring some stunning figured maple. This mandolin has had an expert headstock repair, purportedly done at the Gibson factory, and two crack repairs. The mahogany neck has the comfortable chunky v-profile common to the era of Gibson mandolins, and it plays great all the way up the board. Sound is phenomenal  rich and woody with plenty of low end and nice sustain. The pickguard is issing, tuners are replacements, and the bridge appears to be period-correct; the tailpiece is original.
