The Ladybird is another unique guitar design from the electric team at Collings. This one is inspired by the hollowbody, single-cutaway guitars from the 1960's. There are several features on this guitar which stand-out from others in the line, namely the short scale length. The only to have a 24-1/8" scale, this is both unique and very comfortable, especially for smaller hands. The flatwound strings that come standard are normally reserved for their archtops, but add a jazzy warmth and feel to this model. The pickups are custom made for this model and as Collings states "can go "from a whisper to a howl, all while retaining the note clarity". This is an instrument that needs to be tried to understand it's singularity and will certainly add a different quality to your collection, regardless of how diverse that may be.
