Used Klein & Kauffman 457 "Big Pink"
$13,495.00
An immaculate creation from the long-running collaboration between master craftsmen Steve Klein and Steven Kauffman, the 457 "Big Pink" needs to be heard to be believed. With a tremendous amount of headroom-- it can handle anything you throw at it and more-- there seems to be no way to overdrive this 17" bearclaw sitka spruce top. It has a thunderous yet balanced voice with remarkably deep bass, prominent midrange, and clear, polished trebles. The flamed maple c-shape neck ensures comfort and playability, and the fanned fret design makes for precise intonation up the fretboard.
The build quality and materials are as good as it gets, with generous use of the rare figured pink ivory for the back, sides, bridge, fingerboard, and headstock overlay. Flamed maple binding and abalone purfling add accent to the body, while an intricate flower headstock inlay, courtesy of Larry Robinson, caps it all off. Condition is excellent+ with only very minor evidence of finish wear and no discernible wear on the Evo fretwire. Everything about this guitar is unique and executed beautifully - it is a real work of art.
