This isn't the first of Lewandoski's creations we've had in the shop, and just like the others, this mandolin has the sweetness and projection of the classic old Gibsons of the Lloyd Loar era. Built the old-fashioned way with hand-carved woods, protein glue, and french polish shellac finish. Premium woods include a Sitka spruce top, curly maple back and sides, and a matching curly maple neck. Setup with speedy low action measuring 4\/64\" from the 12th fret to the bottom of the outside strings. Cosmetic condition is very good, with wear limited to a few shallow scrapes here and there and general telegraphing\/sinking of the shellac finish.
