Learn the basics of the Bluegrass Banjo! In this course we will take the beginner and cover the mechanics of the resonator 5 string banjo. From tuning, proper left and right hand technique, basic rolls and reading tab. We will also cover the history, as it’s important to know the roots of the music.

Skills needed: No experience necessary!

What to Bring: A banjo, tuner, and note pad. Need to rent a banjo? Dusty Strings has an affordable rental program. Please come to the shop or call (206) 634-1662 as rental banjos are subject to availability.

Teacher: Dan Monte Calvo has played banjo since 1978. He's traveled and played with many bands in the Seattle area and Europe.
