Early 20th century guitarists were accompanying and improvising single-string guitar solos, and there was no dividing line between urban blues and jazz. Guitarists Lonnie Johnson and Scrapper Blackwell epito-mized this new urban blues, foreshadowing the emergence of electric players like T. Bone Walker and BB King. This can be played fingerstyle but more efficiently with a plectrum (pick). Learn a classic blues tune, new chords and the techniques of single-string soloing. For intermediate to advanced guitarists. Eric Madis is a working musician and recording artist and has taught guitar throughout the US and Canada since 1976.
