Used 1956 Martin 0-18
$4,695.00
A truly special vintage guitar for the discerning player, this 1956 Martin 0-18 is fully serviced and primed to take on the 21st century! It has opened up nicely through the years and rings exceptionally clear with plenty of headroom, surprising for its compact dimensions. It features a solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, rosewood fretboard and bridge, non-scalloped x-bracing, tortoiseshell binding, tortoisehell pickguard, and original open-back tuning machines. It sports a nice and full soft-V shape mahogany neck. Scale length is 24.9" and nut width is 1 3/4".
The repair team here at Dusty Strings performed a fresh neck reset, a full refret, and crafted a new bone saddle and nut. They also stabilized several minor side cracks and two small top cracks; one on the edge of the bass side lower bout and another along the pickguard, waist side. The sides have been finished over, but the top, back, and neck retain the original lacquer finish. Although the shaft of the b-string tuner is slightly bent, the tuning machines are in in good shape and functioning well. Includes a very weathered chipboard case. Modern hardshell cases are available for purchase.
