For advanced beginners and intermediate fingerstyle guitar players. Participants will receive sheet music and hands-on instruction geared toward the students’ level. Eric recommends bringing a smartphone or video and audio recording device.
Feeling out of your comfort zone trying to expand your playing? Looking for ways to make your piece sound more interesting or embellished? Learn some simple “ingredients” that can add new dynamics to the way you play—and think—about your fingerstyle arrangements.
This workshop is perfect for anyone who is new to fingerstyle guitar arranging, or for those who want to hone and improve existing skills. You will gain skills and confidence arranging traditional music for guitar using three classic fingerpicking tunes.
Eric will be presenting Pete Seeger’s “Living in The Country,” the traditional fiddle dance tune “The Eighth Of January (The Battle of New Orleans)” and Doc Watson’s quintessential arrangement of “Windy and Warm.” All pieces will have the full “student” and the more advanced “performance” sheet music included. The full transcriptions for all three of these pieces can be found on Eric’s blog page.
