Dusty Strings Music School offers one-on-one private lessons with our welcoming and supportive teacher artists below. How It Works

  • In-person, online, or hybrid
  • 30, 45, or 60-min lessons
  • Weekly, bi-weekly, or occasionally
  • Rates vary by teacher, starting at $45 for a half-hour lesson
  • 24-hour cancellation policy
  • Secure online Student Portal for making payments, viewing lesson schedule, canceling lessons ahead of time, downloading PDFs and media files from your teacher, reviewing lesson notes, and using the practice timer
  • Private group or family lessons available for up to three people; contact Education Director
  • In-person lessons take place at Dusty Strings (teachers cannot travel to students' homes)

How to Register

  • Select your teacher and fill out the referral form below their bio, including any notes about your goals.
  • You'll receive a Welcome Email and a Login Email to your new Student Portal.
  • Your teacher will also reach out to you around this time to talk with you about your goals and schedule your first lesson.
  • No obligation after the first lesson: If you discover that you and your teacher are not the best fit, or you simply want to try lessons with a different teacher, let us know and we will be happy to help!
  • No fees or taxes. Your teacher may request that you purchase certain books and/or accessories.

What You’ll Need

  • Instrument in good working condition. Ask 
  • An Instrument in good working condition. Don't yet have an instrument? Ask about our affordable rental program!
  • Tuner and accessories or books recommended by your teacher.
  • Want to know if your instrument is ready for lessons? Bring it in at least a few days before your first lesson for an assessment.
  • Online Lessons: Laptop or computer with web cam or a tablet or smartphone and a strong Wi-Fi signal. Please make sure you can be seen and heard before the lesson begins. Your teacher will send you a meeting link for Zoom, Skype, FaceTime (if available), or Google.
