Employment Opportunity: Musical Instrument Repair Lead

Dusty Strings Music Store and School is looking for a full-time instrument repair lead with a solid skill-set of common instrument repairs, excellent customer service skills, and organizational savvy.

Established in 1979, Dusty Strings is a Northwest destination for Martin, Taylor, Collings, Goodall, Weber, National, Nash, and many other brands of new, used, acoustic, electric, and vintage guitars, mandolins, banjos, harps, ukuleles, and more. In addition, Dusty is the trusted regional warranty center for Martin and Taylor guitars.

Our future repair lead will have familiarity with all aspects of acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, and banjo repair. Organization, motivation, and excellent communications skills. Primary responsibilities are:

  • Confident in performing set-ups, cutting new bone nuts and saddles, common pick up installations, and basic repairs to most common fretted instruments.

  • Evaluate instruments, create work orders, schedule repairs, and oversee and monitor the efficient processing of repair jobs from start to finish.

  • Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service to win and maintain the trust of customers.

  • Provide support and guidance to help the repair staff achieve monthly production goals while maintaining good rapport with the team.
