If you know a handful of fiddle tunes and can strum chords fairly well, but are unsure of how to approach an instrumental break in a bluegrass song, this class is for you! Learn how to construct a great sounding traditional mandolin break using the classic bluegrass song "Long Journey Home." For advanced beginners to intermediate players. Recording devices recommended. For players with some experience (or who have just completed Beginning Mandolin 1) looking to grow from sit-at-home skills to playing with other instruments or in ensembles. Tackle more advanced chord voicings and positions, apply tremolos more broadly, and build scale patterns for playing leads in a variety of styles that highlight the instrument's versatility. Develop a reliable toolkit so you can add color to others' songs -- or accompany your own!
